We are aware of a phone scam targeting customers of banks in our area. In some instances, “Home Bank” appears on the customers' phone or caller ID with Home Bank’s main office number of (337) 237-1960. This practice is called “spoofing”, and cyber criminals use it in an attempt to gain access to sensitive information.

It is important to remember that Home Bank will not call, text, or email you asking for login credentials or personal identifying information. Home Bank will not text you a link to click on to scan or recover account information. If you receive a call, text, or email requesting sensitive information, hang up and call us directly. It's important to dial the phone number manually instead of tapping the number from your call log. This could prevent the risk of being redirected to the scammer who initially contacted you.

Always remember the following:

  1. Don’t share your personal identifying information.
  2. Hang up.
  3. Call us manually instead of tapping the number from your call log. This could prevent the risk of being redirected to the scammer who initially contacted you.

If you think you may have been targeted, call us at 1.866.401.9440, or stop by a banking center near you. If you contact us, there will be a verification process to confirm your identity. Find more scam awareness information here.
