Home Bank Grants Funds to Four Southwest LA Nonprofits Through Employee Giving Program

Home Bank’s employee giving program, Home Bank Helps, granted funds to four Southwest, La., area nonprofits in 2020. A new initiative for the bank’s Southwest, La., staff, the grant process allows nonprofits and schools to apply for grant funds for unique projects and community services.

This year, the Southwest, La. grantees included ASSIST Agency which plans to use grant funds to safely admit emergency shelter residents during the COVID-19 crisis.

Scottie Beans Theatre was also a grant recipient. The theatre will use grant funds to collaborate with local law enforcement to work with local children for an educational production that will place “the community and cops on the same stage.”

In addition, Family Strong Foundation was also a 2020 grant recipient. Family Strong is using their grant funds to host a weekly conference call for seniors who need social contact to help stay connected and battle depression.

Finally, the Welsh-Roanoke Food Pantry was a recipient in 2020, and the organization plans to use its grant funds to continue serving community meals and providing food services for those in need.

The next Home Bank Helps grant cycle will take place in spring of 2021. Local nonprofits and schools will be able to apply on Home Bank’s website at www.home24bank.com.
