Privacy Notice

Home Bank is committed to protecting the privacy and security of customer information. This Privacy Policy explains our information collection and sharing practices.  It identifies sources from which we collect nonpublic personal information about you, details measures taken to secure that information, and describes information about you that we may share with our affiliates and nonaffiliates.  This Notice also addresses information sharing with consumer reporting agencies. Home Bank will notify you about our sharing practices when you open an account and each year while you are a customer.  Federal law gives you the right to limit some but not all sharing. Please read this notice to understand what we do. 

DEFINITIONS

We, our, and us, means Home Bank and our affiliate, Home Bancorp, Inc. You and your mean customers with a Home Bank account, as well as any customer who applies for a Home Bank account. Customer means an individual who has a financial product or service with us for personal, family, or household purposes.  Nonpublic personal information means information about you we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you and does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.  Affiliate means financial or non-financial companies related by common ownership or control.  Nonaffiliates are financial or non-financial companies not related by common ownership or control. A joint marketing agreement is a formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.  Everyday business purposes means the actions necessary by financial companies to run their business and manage customer accounts, such as, processing transactions, mailing, auditing services, providing information to credit bureaus and responding to court orders and legal investigations. 

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you, including information on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your credit scores, history; and
  • Information we receive from your internet usage when you visit our web site.
INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE

We may disclose all of the information shown as described in the "Information We Collect" Section, as permitted by law.     

PARTIES TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE

We may share your nonpublic personal information with non-affiliates such as:

  • Service providers who assist us in servicing your accounts and preparing and or delivering bank services and products to you. Examples of such service providers include check printers, data processors, check verification services, and credit reporting agencies.
  • Credit bureaus or similar reporting agencies to which we may report information about your account. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account.
  • Law enforcement officers, governmental or other agencies as ordered by a subpoena, court order or law;
  • Third parties that perform marketing or other services on our behalf; and
  • Other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.

We may also share your personal information for our affiliates' everyday business purposes such as information about our transactions and experiences with you.   We do not share information about your credit worthiness to our affiliates.

Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing.  You do not have a right to limit sharing as described in this section.    

  FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT INFORMATION WE REPORT TO CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCIES

 Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we have a right to share information regarding our transactions and experiences with you as noted herein. NOTIFY US OF INACCURATE INFORMATION WE REPORT TO CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCIES about your account(s).  Send us a written notice describing the specific inaccuracy at the following address: Home Bank, Attn: Compliance Department, P.O. INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER CUSTOMERS

 The privacy policies and practices described in this Privacy Policy Notice also apply to our former customers.

THE CONFIDENTIALITY, SECURITY, AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

All our employees are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of customers' financial and other personal information. Employees are educated and bound by Home Bank's Business Code of Ethics, Confidentiality, Privacy and Information Security Policies.  Only employees actively engaged in their assigned duties are authorized to access or use customer information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to comply with federal standards to store and secure information about you and guard your nonpublic personal information.  We urge you to monitor personal credit reports and also be vigilant in protecting your private information.  Notify us immediately once your contact information changes.
